The Southdale Library Site at 70th and York Avenue will be redeveloped in the next three to five years. A new regional library will be constructed on the 8-acre site. There is also room for more, such as housing, offices or retail on the unused portions of the property. The Edina Housing and Redevelopment Authority is collecting ideas and suggestions from the community. These ideas will shape a Request for Proposal (RFP) that will be issued to real estate developers. The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners will review the proposals and decide a general course of action during summer 2017.
